# How to Create a Post

#### Posts can be created in the following locations:

* [Templates](https://support.postmyparty.com/en/article/get-started-by-creating-a-template-do3628/)  
*​Templates are where you can create a chronological list of posts in a set order.*
​
* [Parties](https://support.postmyparty.com/en/article/how-to-schedule-a-party-u46fzu/)
*Parties are posts that have been scheduled to post.*

* [Post Libraries](https://support.postmyparty.com/en/article/how-to-use-the-post-library-divpdo/)  
*​Libraries are used to store and organize individual posts.*

* [Quick Posts](https://support.postmyparty.com/en/article/create-a-quick-post-18ln5j7/)  
​*Quick posts can be used to create a single post to be published to a Facebook business page.*

When creating a new post, there are two main sections can be filled in: ​*MESSAGE* and *MEDIA*

## MESSAGE (optional)

* Type or paste in any text you want to be included in this post.  
​
* Add any website or video links to the *Message* box.  
​
Use the Text Formatting tools to bold, italicize, or change the font, and the Emoji selection to add emojis to the post.

* Note for **template** posts: If using [Replacement Tokens](https://help.postmyparty.com/en/articles/7017282-how-to-use-replacement-tokens) like [host] or [link] in your message, keep those tokens free from any text formatting changes. They will not be replaced if bold, italicized, or in a different font.

## MEDIA (optional)

You can attach up to 15 pieces of media to each post.  
​  
This includes:

* Photos
* GIFs
* Video files up to 100MB  
(Or 1G limit for the [Professional tier subscription](https://support.postmyparty.com/en/category/professional-subscription-level-features-1hmuaxt/))

​**There are a few ways to upload media to your post:**

* Click *Browse File* to upload photos, GIFs, and/or video files to this post.

* Or, drag your media from a different window and drop it into the *Media* box.

* *For template posts:* Continue on below.

* *For party posts:* Click **Create** to save this post, or **Create And New** to save this post and immediately move on to creating the next post.

* *For library posts:* Click **Create** to save this post, or **Create And New** to save this post and immediately move on to creating the next post.

* *For quick posts:*  
* Select the timezone, date and time for the post.  
* Click either **Post Now** to publish immediately, or **Schedule Now** to save this post for the time selected.

#### This last section will be for template posts. It will not appear on library posts.

Lastly, you will need to select when you want this post to be scheduled for.

* Select the Day of Template ***(this is not the date of the month).***  
You will select the Day of the party you want this post to be published on.

For example: If you have a three-day-long party, the posts you want to publish on the first day of the party would be labeled Day 1, posts for the second day labeled as Day 2, and finally Day 3.

Later when you schedule this template to post to Facebook, it will ask you to select the Start Date of your party, and the system will line your posts up with the date you want them to post on.

* You'll also need to fill in the Time you want this post to be scheduled for.
* Click **Create** to save this post, or **Create And New** to save this post and immediately move on to creating the next post.
