Where is the best place to hold a party?
You can schedule posts to the following Facebook locations:
- Groups
- Events
- Business Pages
- Messenger Chats
While many folks have had success posting to each of these location, we consider Facebook Groups to be the best location to hold your parties.
Why?
There are a few advantages that groups have over the other locations.
- Groups tend to have more of a sense of community - which can lead to higher engagement with your guests.
- There is no end date attached to groups, which keeps it listed in each guests' active group list.
- Groups can be made private, so only the members of the group can see posts and comments.
And lastly, the most advantageous reason:
- Posts scheduled to groups can be pre-loaded to Facebook.
⭐This means your posts can publish without your computer needing to be on.
Tools available in Groups
- Create a questionnaire for people to request to join, to make sure they want to be part of the group.
You can ask anything, like How did you find us? How do you know (host)? What part are you interested in? What’s your favorite food? What’s in your makeup bag? Use these questions to get a feel for the audience you'll be selling to.
- Approve members before they join
This tool adds a level of security to the group, so not just anyone can join. It could also add an air of exclusivity.
- Pin up to ten announcements to the top of the group.
Use this tool to tell members about the most important items they should read first, or want them to easily find. This is also a great place to put multi-photo posts of your products. If you don’t have the announcements feature yet, you can pin any post to the top of the group wall.
- Highlight posts
Facebook defaults to show the most popular posts first on the group. This can cause important posts to get lost in the feed. Be sure to pin important posts to the top and also number your party posts so people can easily follow in order.
What to do after the party, and other ways to use groups
The main function for groups is to encourage community and a safe place for discussion and sharing of common interest topics. After your party is over, you might consider these options:
- Delete it - to completely delete a group you will have to remove every single member of the group, including admins and yourself (last, of course). Everything will be deleted.
- Archive it - if you plan to hold another similar function later on, archiving will essentially pause all postings and activities, until you reopen and post again. Everything will be kept the same, including members.
- Keep it - you can turn this party into a special VIP group for your customers, and post monthly specials or new product information or sales.
Remember, you can always use groups for other things than parties too, such as:
- VIP customers - keep in touch with your customers about monthly specials, new products, live videos, tutorials, etc. (any sales should be kept in a business group)
- Trainings - train your team members on how to do their best in your team with links, docs, live videos, etc.
- Classes - teach your customers on how to use your favorite products, use live video to demonstrate tutorials, etc.
- Team community - build camaraderie and encourage teammates
- Common interest community - focus on a specific topic such as cooking, makeup, organizing, healthy habits, etc.
As always: Reflect who you are, keep it simple, and have fun!
