Troubleshooting why a post may not have published at the time scheduled

You may find scheduled posts that are marked as Pending in the status column of a party, after the time it was scheduled for.

There are several reasons this may happen. We'll cover the most common below.

1) A condition was not met

In order for the extension to be able to publish your posts, the following must be true at the time of each post:

  • The computer is on.

  • Chrome is open.

  • You are logged into your Facebook account on Chrome.

2) The extension not having been refreshed

After scheduling any new parties or making any edits to pending posts, the extension must be refreshed. This refresh loads your new posts to the extension.

If this step is not done, the extension cannot publish your new posts.

3) You have multiple posts scheduled for the exact same time, or very close to one another

We've found making sure there's at least 5-10 minutes between any post leaving your account is helpful in the extension having time to upload and publish your media (and is a good deterrent of Facebook not blocking your account for posting too fast!).

What can happen, is the extension is loading the content for one post, then is interrupted by the next scheduled post before it has published the first. This results in one (if not both) posts failing.

Use the Queue tab on your dashboard to easily review the times of your posts, and the Adjust Posts feature to make any adjustments needed.

4) You have Facebook Messenger chats open or minimized

You know how when you get a message on Facebook Messenger, that chat box pops up in the bottom corner? Or when you minimize a chat, it stays pinned on your screen? We've found that for some, this may be preventing the flow of the extension from publishing how it should.

1) Close any existing and/or minimized FB chats you have open, on all Facebook tabs on your computer.

2) Disable new chats from automatically popping up.

Please see here for visuals:

5) Facebook had a problem with it / You've been blocked

This category includes:

  • Facebook declining to publish your content, due to it being over-used and most likely flagged as spam by some Facebook user in the past.

For posts like this, we recommend using content more unique to yourself, and avoid using links and images that thousands of other consultants are using too.

  • Your account being restricted in some way (photo example below)

This is what's commonly referred to as “Facebook Jail”. It seems to last around 24 hours or so before the account is back to normal, although that is completely on Facebook’s end so we can’t give a guaranteed time frame.

This is happening system wide with Facebook whether you post manually or post through an app, in groups or events, and many other variables..

See here for ways to prevent this in the future:

We hope that helps determine why your posts did not publish. However if you still have posts failing regardless of following the steps above, please reach out to our support team via the Help Chat icon in the lower corner of your screen.
