As of 04/22/24, Facebook removed the ability to add any 3rd party apps (including PostMyParty) to Facebook groups.

However, PostMyParty has created a tool to allow users to continue to schedule posts to Facebook groups, regardless of this Facebook update.

The PostMyParty Workflow Assistant is a Chrome Extension.

With this tool:

  • Continue to use PostMyParty to schedule posts to your Facebook groups and business pages.

  • Continue to post as either your personal profile, or business page profile

  • No need to make sure the PostMyParty app is added to your groups anymore

  • You now have the ability to schedule posts to Facebook events! 🎉

While your posts on Facebook will still look the same, going about scheduling your parties will look a bit differently than before. We know change is hard, so we're here to walk you through to make this transition as easy as possible!

If you’ve been with us long, you’ll know this isn’t the first curveball Facebook has thrown this industry.

(Remember when they removed Event use a while back, when those were the party standard?)

We here at PostMyParty work hard to rise to the occasion and provide our users with a solution!

Step 1) Download and log into the Chrome extension

Step 2) Schedule your party

When scheduling a new party, you’ll notice the flow looks a little bit different than before. We walk you through those differences here:

Step 3) Ensure your posts are ready to publish

Be sure of the following before leaving your computer 👇

When the time for your scheduled posts arrive, the extension will open a new tab, publish to the group it was scheduled for, then close that tab.

💡 What if I can't, or don't want to leave my computer on?

Use the Schedule button for times when keeping your computer on is not an option. This is not a required step, but an alternate solution.

Finally, here are answers to some questions you may have:

What devices can this be installed on / used with?

The extension can be installed to a computer (including laptops). This cannot be used on mobile devices like phones or tablets.

How do I install the Chrome extension?

Please see our full step-by-step tutorial here.

Can I use this on my phone or tablet?

You can still create, schedule, and manage your posts from your phone/tablet.

However, when it's time for the posts to publish you will need the extension. And the extension can only be installed to a computer or laptop.

*Note: The only exception to this is publishing directly to your business page. You can still post to Pages without using the extension.

Does this extension comply with Facebook's terms of service?

Yes! The extension is Google-approved, and hosted along their similar workflow assistants.

This has been legally reviewed, very thoroughly. Using it does not violate any Facebook terms, and does not access or collect data.

PostMyParty has been in good standing with Facebook since our start in 2015, and we would never put that - or our users! - at any sort of risk.

Please see here for more details about this.

Can I install this on a different browser than Chrome?

Technically, yes. However, we recommend using Google Chrome as it is the most reliable.

What if I don't have Google Chrome?

The Google Chrome browser can be installed for free.
Here is where to download Chrome onto your computer.

Can I still post to...

  • Personal groups? Yes!

  • Business Page groups? Yes!

  • Business Pages? Yes!

Bonus: You are now able to post to Facebook events too! 🎉

Can I post as my Business Page name?

Yes! Please see below for more information:

How will I know it's ready to post?

The following conditions must be met at the time of your scheduled posts:

  • The computer must be on.

  • The Google Chrome browser must be open on your computer.

  • You must be logged into the Facebook account you want your posts published by.

  • The PostMyParty extension must be enabled.

Do I need to keep my computer on?

Yes. Using the extension is just as if you had a personal assistant publishing your posts for you at the time they're scheduled for, so it will need to remain on.

It is okay if it falls asleep or your screensaver pops up. It just cannot shut down.

Exception:

Use the Schedule button for times when keeping your computer on is not an option. This is not a required step, but an alternate solution.

Will I still be able to use my templates?

Yes, using templates will still work the same way as before.

We do recommend being more careful about the spacing of your posts. We've found making sure there's at least 5 minutes between any post leaving your account is helpful in the extension having time to upload and publish your media, and is a good deterrent of Facebook not blocking your account for posting too fast!

Can I post to multiple parties at once?

Yes, just be mindful that you do not have more than 1 post scheduled at the same exact time.

We've found making sure there's at least 5 minutes between any post leaving your account is helpful in the extension having time to upload and publish your media, and is a good deterrent of Facebook not blocking your account for posting too fast!

Will the be an additional cost to use this?

No, the ability to use the Chrome extension is included with every PostMyParty subscription.

Will using this get me flagged by Facebook?

By nature of Facebook, no one is ever able to guarantee your not being flagged.

However, using the Chrome extension does not put you at any higher risk than making these posts manually, or hand-scheduling them through Facebook.

Same as before, avoid having more than one post scheduled at the exact same time.

Please see here for more tips to avoid landing in Facebook Jail, no matter how you decide to post!
