Allow Pop-Up Notifications on your phone

Having trouble getting notifications for a Virtual Pop-Up on your phone, or other mobile device?

Below are some common reasons this may be happening. Please review each one, to see if it is helpful.

1) Check to be sure your phone is not in Focus or Do Not Disturb mode.

These modes are intended to block all notifications.

  • To check: Swipe down on your phone screen. If either of these modes are enabled, it will likely show on this screen. Tap to turn it off.

2) Check to be sure you have enabled notifications for that Pop-Up.

When first joining or creating a Pop-Up, you are asked to enable notifications. If this was declined, no notifications will be sent.

  • To check: Go to that Pop-Up. Either click the blue box prompting you to enable them, or select this option in your settings.

3) Make sure your browser is set to allow notifications.

You may have opted to block website notifications on your device, sometime in the past.

  • The steps to check this may look a little different than what is shown below depending on the browser you are using, and what type of phone you have.
  • Below, Google Chrome is shown on an Android phone. Again, the wording may be different on your phone, but the steps will generally be the same.

To start, go to a Virtual Pop-Up from your internet browser on your phone (not the mobile Party App).

  1. From your browser's settings bar, select the Inspect icon (usually directly to the left of the website).
  2. If it does not show that notifications are allowed for this site, tap to change that setting.

Making sure to check each of these options should result in you receiving a notification on your phone each time a new post is made in a pop-up you are a member of.
